Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Sílvio Luís de Lara took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of DC UNITED FC booed when Tri Mundial MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reinaldo Dracena, 4 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cipriano Valle got free with Didi Teixeira in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Betão Viana's late challenge caught a DC UNITED FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Betão Viana helped the player get up and apologised. Betão Viana kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Juan Oliveira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Richard Paranaense went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Tri Mundial MZC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Gilberto Novaes hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Tri Mundial MZC's zone, Cipriano Valle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Didi Teixeira came out of the goal and Cipriano Valle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 37 minutes into the game, Márcio de Sousa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Didi Teixeira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 42 played minutes DC UNITED FC got a freekick which was hit by Bruninho da Costa. 47 minutes into the match, Tri Mundial MZC's goalkeeper Didi Teixeira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cipriano Valle. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Márcio de Sousa was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sílvio Luís de Lara in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juan Oliveira saved DC UNITED FC from getting behind. 55 minutes into the game, DC UNITED FC's Márcio de Sousa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Didi Teixeira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Cesinha Pena kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the match, DC UNITED FC's Márcio de Sousa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Didi Teixeira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Márcio de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65thth minute of the game Cipriano Valle who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tri Mundial MZC's Didi Teixeira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Didi Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cipriano Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After a defensive mix-up in DC UNITED FC's zone, Sílvio Luís de Lara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan Oliveira came out of the goal and Sílvio Luís de Lara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 72nd minute, one of DC UNITED FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for DC UNITED FC. Didi Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Márcio de Sousa in the 83rd minute of play. Cipriano Valle took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Didi Teixeira. Didi Teixeira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. 90 minutes into the match, Tri Mundial MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Cipriano Valle came free, but Didi Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Didi Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cipriano Valle in the 91st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Bruninho da Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. DC UNITED FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruninho da Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Didi Teixeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Didi Teixeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Márcio de Sousa in the 98th minute of the match. DC UNITED FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
