Spectators: 7293 (Terracing: 5472, Seating: 1677, VIP seats: 144) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Quiróz Arozamena got the match started through his kick off. Carlos Alberto Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quiróz Arozamena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Itaguacu's Digo Sá got a free kick in the 6th minute. Teodoro Castro lost his temper 8 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 8 minutes into the game, one of CR Independente:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Itaguacu a penalty, 10 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Digo Sá, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of CR Independente's Carlos Alberto Sousa. 1-0. After 14 played minutes Quiróz Arozamena rounded CR Independente's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Quiróz Arozamena put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Carlos Alberto Sousa. A collision led to Itaguacu getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Quiróz Arozamena hit a great ball. In the 27th match minute, CR Independente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arlindo Valadares to maneuver through the defense. Quiróz Arozamena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Itaguacu getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Geraldo Mota hit a great ball. Carlos Alberto Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Peres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute, Mauro Peres ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlos Alberto Sousa was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. After a defensive mix-up in CR Independente's zone, Leonardo de Queiroz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Alberto Sousa came out of the goal and Leonardo de Queiroz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Alberto Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quiróz Arozamena, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlinhos Fernandes to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Quiróz Arozamena made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Alberto Sousa. CR Independente's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Carlos Alberto Sousa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Quiróz Arozamena went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. José Augusto Diniz got a throw-in 59 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Arlindo Valadares. Quiróz Arozamena succeeded in the game's 60th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 8-0. Quiróz Arozamena hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 66th minute Quiróz Arozamena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Alberto Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute, Dé da Cunha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Hermínio da Silva in the 68th minute really tested Romário Britto's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 70th minute Leonardo de Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Alberto Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 71 minutes, Quiróz Arozamena made it 9-0 with a short kick to the right side. CR Independente's Carlos Alberto Sousa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Mauro Peres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. CR Independente's Carlos Alberto Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Quiróz Arozamena in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Carlinhos Fernandes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Alberto Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quiróz Arozamena, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. When the referee ended the match the Itaguacu players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
