A wasted opportunity for East Tower United. If Cleiton Dante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute, Gilberto Ortiz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 11 minutes into the game, Gilberto Ortiz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. East Tower United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vendinha the free kick. Gilberto Ortiz hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Bernardinho Guerra's late challenge caught a East Tower United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernardinho Guerra helped the player get up and apologised. The goalkeeper, Agnaldo Cardozo, was totally fooled by East Tower United's Giovanni Félix, who 15 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After having played for 25 minutes, Nelson do Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. East Tower United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelson do Vale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Agnaldo Cardozo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nelson do Vale went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. When Nelson do Vale came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the East Tower United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nelson do Vale couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Álvaro Neves in the 37th minute of play forced Vendinha's goalkeeper Agnaldo Cardozo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lúcio Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Sá having to interfere.
