Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcel Recife in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquim Santana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 5 minutes into the match, Rodriguinho Lucas notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of São Paulo's Joaquim Santana. Joaquim Santana was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 8th match minute, São Paulo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Délio Pombal to maneuver through the defense. If Rodriguinho Lucas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristóvão Teixeira kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Marcel Recife sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rodriguinho Lucas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rodriguinho Lucas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquim Santana having to make a save. After 25 played minutes Délio Pombal rounded Conselho's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. Délio Pombal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Délio Pombal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Fabrício Tande tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Marcel Recife's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquim Santana was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Celsinho Tinoco kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 38th minute, Rodriguinho Lucas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute, Carlos Eduardo Amaral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Délio Pombal to make the kick off. Marcel Recife took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joaquim Santana. Joaquim Santana dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. São Paulo's Joaquim Santana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save São Paulo from getting a goal against them. A hard shot by Dadá Lima from long distance, 65 minutes into the match, got Joaquim Santana's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Joaquim Santana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodriguinho Lucas's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Celsinho Tinoco kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Rodriguinho Lucas hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute, Marcel Recife fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Marcel Recife received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Joaquim Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Júnior Barreto notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of São Paulo's Joaquim Santana. Joaquim Santana was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Conselho played a much better game than São Paulo and deserved their victory. The São Paulo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
