Eugênio Sanches started the match with the kick off. When César Lara fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grêmio Esportivo Brasil's protests and gave César Lara a yellow card for diving instead. César Lara hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Família Silva FC's Eugênio Sanches got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luiz Fabiano Palmeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilvan Madureira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute Gilvan Madureira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fabiano Palmeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Grêmio Esportivo Brasil getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Délio Braga hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugênio Sanches in the 15th minute of play forced Grêmio Esportivo Brasil's goalkeeper Luiz Fabiano Palmeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Grêmio Esportivo Brasil's José Augusto da Mata got a free kick in the 16th minute. Aírton Sabóia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Luís Paulo Cordeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Eugênio Sanches came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Família Silva FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eugênio Sanches couldn't finish the play. Família Silva FC's Luís Paulo Cordeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Família Silva FC from getting a goal against them. If Gilvan Madureira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Família Silva FC's Aílton de Moraes got a free kick in the 30th minute. 33 minutes into the game, Paulo José Bertassi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grêmio Esportivo Brasil's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Família Silva FC the free kick. Família Silva FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilvan Madureira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eugênio Sanches fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fabiano Palmeira having to interfere. Eugênio Sanches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 44 played minutes Grêmio Esportivo Brasil got a freekick which was hit by Paulo José Bertassi. Eugênio Sanches scored 0-1 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luiz Fabiano Palmeira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The wind increased when Délio Braga made the kick off in the second half. Gilvan Madureira took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luiz Fabiano Palmeira. Família Silva FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
