Spectators: 7223 (Terracing: 5419, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 143) After 5 minutes of play, Merity's Álvaro Lima made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Francisco Aguiar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Machado F.C.'s Francisco Aguiar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Álvaro Lima in the 8th minute of play. 9 minutes had been played when some careless play by Machado F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Téo Leite was slow to take the kick. During this time Merity's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Merity's Téo Leite to fire away a dangerous shot which Francisco Aguiar despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 17 minutes into the game, Daniel das Neves recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gualter da Rocha. Daniel das Neves showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 21st minute Rubens Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Aguiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Célio Souto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Francisco Aguiar was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Francisco Aguiar came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Merity's Álvaro Lima. But to his dismay, Álvaro Lima quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Francisco Aguiar came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Merity's Rubens Neto. But to his dismay, Rubens Neto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. After some careless play in the Machado F.C. defense, Rubens Neto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Francisco Aguiar. The Machado F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Francisco Aguiar should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Machado F.C.'s Cauã Barbosa got a free kick in the 42nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Neiva in the 45th minute of play forced Machado F.C.'s goalkeeper Francisco Aguiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Machado F.C. defense, Rubens Neto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Francisco Aguiar. The Machado F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Francisco Aguiar should have stopped the shot. After the first half Merity were leading 1-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rubens Neto to make the kick off. Francisco Aguiar was a little too slow when Álvaro Lima got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 1-7. Francisco Aguiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eurico Sampaio in the 61st minute of the match. Francisco Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eurico Sampaio in the 62nd minute of play. Machado F.C.'s Oséas Alcântara couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 67th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Merity. 69 minutes into the game, Zeca Monteiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Merity's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Machado F.C. the free kick. After a rather tough play, Merity's Zeca Monteiro got a free kick in the 70th minute. If Betinho Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Merity getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Zeca Monteiro hit a great ball. Gualter da Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel das Neves in the 86th minute of play. Orlando Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Aguiar having to interfere. After 94 minutes of play Merity's Zeca Monteiro was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 95th minute, Zeca Monteiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
