Evaristo Alvarenga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th minute, Evaristo Alvarenga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Víktor Ortiz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chico Cardoso got free with Artur dos Santos in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Artur dos Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabiano da Silveira in the 19th minute of the match. In the 25th minute, Amílton Teles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Fabiano da Silveira took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Artur dos Santos to make any attempt to save it. Artur dos Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabiano da Silveira in the 37th minute of play. Artur dos Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabiano da Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zeca Arósio hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

53 minutes into the match, Itacurussa's goal looked a bit too open when Fabiano da Silveira came free, but Artur dos Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st minute, Fabiano da Silveira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Icatu SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Artur dos Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amílton Teles, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Artur dos Santos came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Icatu SC's Fabiano da Silveira. But to his dismay, Fabiano da Silveira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Chico Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Icatu SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Chico Cardoso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artur dos Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 75th minute, Celso Mello made a precise shot to the right of Víktor Ortiz. Icatu SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. With an all-out effort, Itacurussa's Víktor Ortiz threw himself towards the right post 79 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Evaristo Alvarenga, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Artur dos Santos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amílton Teles went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-2 was the resulting score. Artur dos Santos came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Icatu SC's Fabiano da Silveira. But to his dismay, Fabiano da Silveira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-2. In the 92nd minute Fabrício Soeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chico Cardoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 93 minutes into the match, Itacurussa's goal looked a bit too open when Chico Cardoso came free, but Artur dos Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Nelsinho Vinhas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Artur dos Santos. Itacurussa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nelsinho Vinhas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-2.
