No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gildo Marques made a kick off. With a little luck, Pirapitinguy's Régis do Vale got control of the ball when Benjamin Freitas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cristiano Netto kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. When Gildo Marques came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Pedro II FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gildo Marques couldn't finish the play. 55 minutes into the match, Cleiton Antunes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Moisés das Neves. Pedro II FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cleiton Antunes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 61st minute Cleiton Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moisés das Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 61 played minutes Pedro II FC got a freekick which was hit by André Luiz Souto. After a defensive mix-up in Pedro II FC's zone, Cleiton Antunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Moisés das Neves came out of the goal and Cleiton Antunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Natã Motta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moisés das Neves having to interfere. Régis do Vale made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Benjamin Freitas sent off a good shot on target. Benjamin Freitas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Régis do Vale came out and tried to block the shot, but Benjamin Freitas slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 65th minute. Gildo Marques's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Régis do Vale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luciano Varela during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Luciano Varela hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. If Benjamin Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natã Motta in the 88th minute of play forced Pedro II FC's goalkeeper Moisés das Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moisés das Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cleiton Antunes in the 91st minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Pirapitinguy had won after a very even match.
