When Red Dragon's Bernardo Pimenta, in the 7th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Red Dragon. Duarte da Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgílio Bezerra having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Manfredo Valladares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itumirim fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Elias Gonçalves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olívio Varela in the 20th minute of play. Elias Gonçalves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osmar Quirino in the 21st minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 22nd minute of the game. One of Red Dragon:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Itumirim:s goal. Duarte da Silva shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Elias Gonçalves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Pimenta in the 28th minute of play. Duarte da Silva might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Virgílio Bezerra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Duarte da Silva ran back to his position shaking his head. Virgílio Bezerra was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Manfredo Valladares showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 29 minute of play. Bernardo Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Gonçalves having to interfere. Bernardo Pimenta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 42 minutes, Bernardo Pimenta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Red Dragon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardo Pimenta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dito Pontes hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bernardo Pimenta to strike the kick off in the second half. Elias Gonçalves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo Pimenta in the 52nd minute of the match. Virgílio Bezerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duarte da Silva in the 55th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Duarte da Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itumirim's supporters rose to their feet, but Duarte da Silva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Virgílio Bezerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elias Gonçalves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Pimenta in the 59th minute of play. Dito Pontes charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dito Pontes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Itumirim getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Dito Pontes hit a great ball. Duarte da Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgílio Bezerra having to interfere. Elias Gonçalves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Osmar Quirino in the 65th minute. Manfredo Valladares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Virgílio Bezerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Itumirim's Duarte da Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Manfredo Valladares came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Itumirim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manfredo Valladares couldn't finish the play. Duarte da Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bernardo Pimenta in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elias Gonçalves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Osmar Quirino kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Elias Gonçalves. That made the score 2-1 in the 88 minute of play. In the 91st minute Duarte da Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgílio Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Dito Pontes was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 92 minutes had been played. With a little luck, Itumirim's Elias Gonçalves got control of the ball when Osmar Quirino tried to sneak it across the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Red Dragon players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Itumirim.
