Lauro Torres didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from João Francisco de Andrade went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Lauro Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandrinho Gomes in the 11th minute of play. João Francisco de Andrade recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sandrinho Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Baete's Lauro Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandrinho Gomes in the 21st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Franklin Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Franklin Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lauro Torres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. João Francisco de Andrade took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lauro Torres. Lauro Torres dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Sandrinho Gomes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thiago dos Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lauro Torres. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thiago dos Santos ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 37th match minute, Baete was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cleiton Moreno to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Santo FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hugo Lopez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sandrinho Gomes scored 0-3 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lauro Torres, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, João Francisco de Andrade took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Lauro Torres to make any attempt to save it. When Sandrinho Gomes came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Santo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandrinho Gomes couldn't finish the play. João Francisco de Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Lauro Torres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baete's Lauro Torres proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Baete from getting a goal against them. 77 minutes into the match, Baete's goal looked a bit too open when João Francisco de Andrade came free, but Lauro Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Francisco de Andrade in the 81st minute of play forced Baete's goalkeeper Lauro Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Luiz Pires kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Matheus Guedes, 83 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Oswaldo Massa kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. In the 91st minute João Francisco de Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauro Torres saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sandrinho Gomes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Thiago dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Santo FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
