Valdir Paranaense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reginaldo Netto in the 39th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Caruara SS's Valdomiro de Almeida sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elano Lopez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Abadia SS's Ian Quintal got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frédson Magalhães hit a great ball. Hamílton Freire charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hamílton Freire the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Valdomiro de Almeida blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elano Lopez having to make a save. In the 93rd minute, Ian Quintal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Abadia SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Abadia SS were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
