Spectators: 7266 (Terracing: 5451, Seating: 1671, VIP seats: 144) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Geovani Cearense got the match started through his kick off. Fábio Fernandes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lauro Torres came out and tried to block the shot, but Fábio Fernandes slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 6th minute. Fábio Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauro Torres having to interfere. Lauro Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fábio Fernandes in the 13th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Baete's zone, Gustavo Barreto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lauro Torres came out of the goal and Gustavo Barreto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd minute of the match Carlos Fernando Sampaio shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lauro Torres showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Fábio Fernandes took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Lauro Torres to make any attempt to save it. In the 36th match minute, Baete was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oswaldo Massa to maneuver through the defense. If Fábio Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Fábio Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lions FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fábio Fernandes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lauro Torres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Fábio Fernandes took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Lauro Torres to make any attempt to save it. In the 47th minute, Fábio Fernandes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lions FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fábio Fernandes made a kick off. After 53 played minutes Baete got a freekick which was hit by Júlio de Moraes. Gustavo Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Fernando Sampaio shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Lauro Torres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fellipe Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Lauro Torres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fábio Fernandes in the 67th minute of the match. After having played for 71 minutes, Fábio Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lions FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fábio Fernandes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fábio Fernandes in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lauro Torres saved Baete from getting behind. When Lions FC's Fábio Fernandes in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Baete's goalie prevented a goal. 79 minutes into the match, Fábio Fernandes notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Baete's Lauro Torres. Lauro Torres was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cafu Veiga charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cafu Veiga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fábio Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauro Torres having to interfere. Lauro Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fábio Fernandes in the 91st minute of play. Fábio Fernandes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
