Spectators: 6649 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1649, VIP seats: 0) Oswaldo Massa started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rd minute, Jarbas Salgado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lauro Torres was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After 5 minutes, Oswaldo Massa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Baete and the Ermo EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Baete's Oswaldo Massa got a free kick in the 5th minute. When Ermo EC's Iuri Sousa in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Baete's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iuri Sousa in the 11th minute of play forced Baete's goalkeeper Lauro Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iuri Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oswaldo Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardinho Abreu having to interfere. Renato Sarmento's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Lauro Torres firmly grabbed it by the left post. The supporters of Ermo EC booed when Baete was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oswaldo Massa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lauro Torres was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Baltazar Aguiar. Iuri Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauro Torres having to interfere. After some careless play in the Baete defense, Renato Sarmento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lauro Torres. The Baete fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lauro Torres should have stopped the shot. Renato Sarmento came free with the goalkeeper in the 34th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lauro Torres could save by the left post. Baete's Lauro Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iuri Sousa in the 36th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Geovani Cearense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Baete's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovani Cearense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardinho Abreu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 41st minute, Geovani Cearense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Renato Sarmento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Iuri Sousa was the one to do the kick off. Lauro Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Carlos Leite in the 52nd minute of play. Lauro Torres didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aírton Paulista went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Lauro Torres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jarbas Salgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute of the game, Jarbas Salgado landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. In the 63rd match minute, Baete was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luiz Pires to maneuver through the defense. Baltazar Aguiar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 65th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lauro Torres. Baete's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Lauro Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renato Sarmento in the 67th minute of play. Lauro Torres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iuri Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 71 minutes into the game, Geovani Cearense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Baete's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ermo EC the free kick. After 72 played minutes Baete got a freekick which was hit by Geovani Cearense. Baete's Lauro Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renato Sarmento in the 74th minute of play. Lauro Torres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renato Sarmento in the 77th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Baete players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ermo EC.
