When Reginaldo Valadares fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hakuna Matata's protests and gave Reginaldo Valadares a yellow card for diving instead. After 9 played minutes Hakuna Matata got a freekick which was hit by Reginaldo Valadares. Franklin da Cunha didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 10th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Nilton Siqueira was extremely unlucky when he, in the 15th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. A hard shot 16 in the game by Nilton Siqueira from a close distance when the talented Franklin da Cunha managed to make a qualified save. Hakuna Matata's players were relieved. Franklin da Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Fontes in the 18th minute of the match. Sapopema's Vágner Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik de Andrade in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd match minute, Sapopema was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafa Vargas to maneuver through the defense. Vágner Sanches showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Carioca, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Nilton Siqueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Franklin da Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sapopema's Vágner Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik de Andrade in the 30th minute of play. 31 minutes into the game, Erik de Andrade cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Vágner Sanches was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vágner Sanches showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik de Andrade in the 36th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Hakuna Matata's zone, Alexandre Fontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franklin da Cunha came out of the goal and Alexandre Fontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Hakuna Matata defense, Nilton Siqueira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Franklin da Cunha. The Hakuna Matata fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Franklin da Cunha should have stopped the shot. After having played for 47 minutes, Alexandre Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sapopema's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Fontes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Raimundo Damião hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. If Nilton Siqueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute of the match, Erik de Andrade tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Vágner Sanches saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Erik de Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Hakuna Matata's Didi Almeida got a free kick in the 74th minute. If Naldo Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 76 minutes into the game, Tomás Proença was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hakuna Matata's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sapopema the free kick. After 77 played minutes Hakuna Matata got a freekick which was hit by Tomás Proença. Sapopema's Nilton Siqueira got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilton Siqueira in the 85th minute of play forced Hakuna Matata's goalkeeper Franklin da Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute Erik de Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vágner Sanches saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th match minute, Sapopema was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raimundo Damião to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Sapopema's zone, Victor Carioca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vágner Sanches came out of the goal and Victor Carioca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Sapopema getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Raí Matos hit a great ball. In the 92ndth minute of the game Erik de Andrade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sapopema's Vágner Sanches was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vágner Sanches made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Victor Carioca sent off a good shot on target. When the referee ended the match the Sapopema players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
