The referee gave Caruara SS a penalty, 26 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Frédson Magalhães, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Baete's Lauro Torres. 0-2. Valdomiro de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lauro Torres having to interfere. Lauro Torres dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. After 47 minutes, Pedro Luiz Pires mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Baete and the Caruara SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Baete:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Caruara SS:s goal. After the first half Caruara SS were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valdomiro de Almeida made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Valdomiro de Almeida kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lauro Torres. That made the score 1-5 in the 53 minute of play. Wilson Bastos's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Lauro Torres firmly grabbed it by the left post. Geovani Cearense's late challenge caught a Caruara SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
