The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 8 minutes, Tomás Linhares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the União F.C. and the AC Milan players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of AC Milan booed when União F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Linhares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardo Silva's late challenge caught a AC Milan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricardo Silva helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, União F.C.'s Ricardo Silva got a free kick in the 10th minute. Andrézinho Velloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Matos, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. União F.C.'s Arnaldo Fernandez got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Isaltino de Alcântara charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Isaltino de Alcântara the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to União F.C. getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Isaltino de Alcântara hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute of the match Hernani Matos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Andrézinho Velloso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Andrézinho Velloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Matos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kauan Ramalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro do Valle having to interfere. When AC Milan's Nando Brasil in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye União F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Nando Brasil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andrézinho Velloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Matos in the 43rd minute of the match. If Arnaldo Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Kauan Ramalho made the kick off in the second half. Mário Salles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Ciro do Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Kauan Ramalho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ciro do Valle was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 60 minutes into the match, Arnaldo Fernandez notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of AC Milan's Ciro do Valle. Ciro do Valle was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tomás Linhares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 69 minutes into the match, União F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Juan Matos came free, but Andrézinho Velloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andrézinho Velloso was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Hernani Matos. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
