In the 13th minute, Pedro Luiz Simões got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 15 minutes, Nilmar Ferreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itajuipe EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nilmar Ferreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Laércio Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Mendiko, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Laércio Antunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Caetano Salgado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Cacá de Andrade made a huge save. 82 minutes into the match, Guarani FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nilmar Ferreira came free, but Laércio Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victor Mendiko in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Laércio Antunes saved Guarani FC from getting behind. Pedro Luiz Simões's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cacá de Andrade read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. Guarani FC's Caetano Salgado got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guarani FC played a much better game than Itajuipe EC and deserved their victory. The Itajuipe EC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
