The score was now 2-0. 39 minutes in the game, Gilson Furtado fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Manuel Mattos having to interfere. Flavinho Sanches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Rickers's Giuseppe Nunes got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Renato Tróia took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fiori Brasil. Fiori Brasil dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Fiori Brasil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusébio Guedes, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Renato Tróia made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Royal Anderlecht's Renato Tróia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fiori Brasil narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Royal Anderlecht's goalkeeper Manuel Mattos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Rickers booed when Royal Anderlecht was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisinho Baiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rickers's Fiori Brasil proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Rickers from getting a goal against them. Gilson Furtado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Mattos having to interfere. Eusébio Guedes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fiori Brasil read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Rickers's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
