In the 29th match minute, Marata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dagoberto Mineiro to maneuver through the defense. Trincheira's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Vitinho Botelho in the 34th minute. Alexsandro Pernambucano made a great header on Trincheira's corner, it was just that Marata's Zé Paulo Lopez managed to reach the ball for a save. 37 minutes into the game, Rodrigo da Costa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Umberto de Carvalho. Alexsandro Pernambucano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dagoberto Mineiro to make the kick off. Zé Paulo Lopez was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alexsandro Pernambucano showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 53 minute of play. After 58 minutes of play, Trincheira's Ricardinho Maciel made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zé Paulo Lopez was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ricardinho Maciel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dagoberto Mineiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 66th minute, Geovânio da Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Rodrigo da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Marata booed when Trincheira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonel Vinhas didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Ricardinho Maciel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Trincheira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marata the free kick. After 73 played minutes Trincheira got a freekick which was hit by Ricardinho Maciel. In the 75th minute, Rodrigo da Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dagoberto Mineiro struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Umberto de Carvalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marata. If Rodrigo da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodrigo da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Umberto de Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Marata getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Dagoberto Mineiro hit a great ball. 93 minutes into the match, Trincheira's Vitinho Botelho broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Trincheira eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
