Umberto de Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kauã Paraibano, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Magno Bueno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardinho Maciel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the game, Alexsandro Pernambucano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Magno Bueno was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Umberto de Carvalho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mathias Peixoto's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Mathias Peixoto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Umberto de Carvalho. That made the score 1-1 in the 20 minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Putfire's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardinho Maciel came free, but Magno Bueno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Ricardinho Maciel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Magno Bueno was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The referee felt a red card was in order, 34 minutes into the game, when Dráusio Moreira put in a rough tackle. In the 35th match minute, Trincheira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dráusio Moreira to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathias Peixoto in the 38th minute of play forced Trincheira's goalkeeper Umberto de Carvalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Trincheira's zone, Kauã Paraibano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Umberto de Carvalho came out of the goal and Kauã Paraibano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Putfire's Kauã Paraibano got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ricardinho Maciel scored 1-3 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Magno Bueno, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Putfire players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Trincheira were winning 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ricardinho Maciel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Trincheira's Umberto de Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathias Peixoto in the 52nd minute of play. Ricardinho Maciel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Magno Bueno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mathias Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Umberto de Carvalho having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mathias Peixoto in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Umberto de Carvalho saved Trincheira from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mathias Peixoto in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Umberto de Carvalho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mathias Peixoto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Umberto de Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Kauã Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Putfire's supporters rose to their feet, but Kauã Paraibano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Umberto de Carvalho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mathias Peixoto struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. The Putfire manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Trincheira to win.
