Spectators: 6762 (Terracing: 5462, Seating: 1300, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ronaldão da Cunha got the match started through his kick off. 9 minutes into the match, Buritama's goalkeeper Fernando Romano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juninho Tande. Ivo Pinheiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Luiz Fernando Brasil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Carlos Ferraz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Buritama's zone, Juninho Tande stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Romano came out of the goal and Juninho Tande tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ivo Pinheiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Luiz Fernando Brasil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Ivo Pinheiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luiz Fernando Brasil was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ivo Pinheiro in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luiz Fernando Brasil saved Largura FC from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ivo Pinheiro in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luiz Fernando Brasil prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Júnior Schmidt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luiz Fernando Brasil having to make a save. In the 34th match minute, Largura FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Moreno to maneuver through the defense. After 35 minutes, Ivo Pinheiro made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Largura FC's Luiz Fernando Brasil tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Ivo Pinheiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buritama's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivo Pinheiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fernando Brasil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 41 minutes, the score became 0-3 when José Carlos Ferraz sped through Largura FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luiz Fernando Brasil. 45 minutes into the game, Ivo Pinheiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buritama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Largura FC the free kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivo Pinheiro to make the kick off. The attack was good, but when Ivo Pinheiro in the 52nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Naldo Meira's late challenge caught a Buritama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Naldo Meira helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Largura FC's Naldo Meira got a free kick in the 54th minute. Ivo Pinheiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Luiz Fernando Brasil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ivo Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Buritama's Ian Pimenta was substituted for Ivo Pinheiro. After a rather tough play, Largura FC's Roberto Moreno got a free kick in the 76th minute. When Ian Pimenta came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Buritama fans jumped to their feet. Buritama's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
