José Augusto Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dinei Lira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernandinho Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the game, Putinga's Washington Xavier nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fernandinho Meirelles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Dinei Lira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernandinho Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Marcus Maranhense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Dinei Lira made a huge save. In the 25th minute Fernandinho Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinei Lira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Washington Xavier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandinho Meirelles having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Washington Xavier in the 28th minute of play forced Corinthians's goalkeeper Fernandinho Meirelles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Corinthians getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Marcus Maranhense hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute of the match Joel da Mata shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fernandinho Meirelles showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcus Maranhense in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dinei Lira saved Putinga from getting behind. Putinga's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Fernandinho Soares 39 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Washington Xavier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Washington Xavier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandinho Meirelles having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Washington Xavier got free with Fernandinho Meirelles in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 56 played minutes Corinthians got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Augusto Marquez. In the 59th minute, Cícero Bittencourt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Corinthians fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. After 62 played minutes Putinga got a freekick which was hit by Gil Teixeira. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernandinho Soares in the 64th minute of play forced Putinga's goalkeeper Dinei Lira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Fernandinho Soares came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Corinthians fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernandinho Soares couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Putinga getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Ian Mangueira hit a great ball. When Lenílson Dracena came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Corinthians fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lenílson Dracena couldn't finish the play. When Lenílson Dracena fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corinthians's protests and gave Lenílson Dracena a yellow card for diving instead. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 81st minute, when Putinga's Washington Xavier after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Fernandinho Meirelles in Corinthians's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. Marcus Maranhense hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Joel da Mata, 86 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Fernandinho Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute, Joel da Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Joel da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Corinthians booed when Putinga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gil Teixeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
