Lenílson de Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Clube Atlético Riacho's Jaime Moreno got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 23 minutes into the game, Victor Souza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corinthians Esporte Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube Atlético Riacho the free kick. Victor Souza hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Jaime Moreno in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rui de Carvalho, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jaime Moreno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui de Carvalho having to interfere. Gilson Arce struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Rui de Carvalho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clube Atlético Riacho. Jaime Moreno who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Rui de Carvalho when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Rui de Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilson Arce in the 36th minute of the match. In the 38th match minute, Corinthians Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robinho Faria to maneuver through the defense. Jaime Moreno's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Rui de Carvalho skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jaime Moreno in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rui de Carvalho saved Corinthians Esporte Clube from getting behind. Gilson Arce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Rui de Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jaime Moreno was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Jaime Moreno got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rui de Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Moreno, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Clube Atlético Riacho's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edmundo Valle in the 57th minute. A nice corner shot did that Edmundo Valle got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rui de Carvalho quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Renato Santana hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Gilson Arce took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rui de Carvalho. Rui de Carvalho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Gilson Arce might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rui de Carvalho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilson Arce ran back to his position shaking his head. Amílton Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Rui de Carvalho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jaime Moreno's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Jaime Moreno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gerson Quirino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Corinthians Esporte Clube's Rui de Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Moreno in the 88th minute of play. When Clube Atlético Riacho's Jaime Moreno in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Corinthians Esporte Clube's goalie prevented a goal.
