Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Natanael de Sousa made the kick off and thus started the match. Natanael de Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 8th minute of the match, Erik Branco got a very nice opportunity to score, but Pedro Luiz Lopez was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cláudio Messias didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dinei das Neves went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Matutina's Pedro Luiz Lopez got control of the ball when Erik Branco tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Erik Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Eduardo Seco hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. When Erik Branco came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Amarantina SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erik Branco couldn't finish the play. Cláudio Messias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dinei das Neves in the 31st minute of play. When Matutina's Natanael de Sousa in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Amarantina SS's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 40 minutes, Erik Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Amarantina SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erik Branco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Erik Branco kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Luiz Lopez. That made the score 1-1 in the 42 minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulo Proença made a kick off. Dinei das Neves scored 1-2 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cláudio Messias, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Erik Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erik Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Pedro Luiz Lopez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Erik Branco came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Amarantina SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erik Branco couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Branco in the 66th minute of play forced Matutina's goalkeeper Pedro Luiz Lopez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Dinei das Neves took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Cláudio Messias to make any attempt to save it. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Amarantina SS's goalkeeper Cláudio Messias, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 72nd match minute, Amarantina SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amauri Alvarenga to maneuver through the defense. If Erik Branco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th minute, Edinho Mazza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cláudio Messias came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Matutina's Dinei das Neves. But to his dismay, Dinei das Neves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Gilberto Urbano hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Dinei das Neves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cláudio Messias read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. If Natanael de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luís Eduardo Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Matutina eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
