Spectators: 6681 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 0) Jataba's Sidnei Freitas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 9th match minute, Seleção was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolas Peres to maneuver through the defense. Jataba's Mauro Seco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavinho Jacinto in the 12th minute of play. Agostinho Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauro Seco having to interfere. Jânio de Godoi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mauro Seco having to make a save. Mauro Seco came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Seleção's Marcelinho Silveira. But to his dismay, Marcelinho Silveira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 20thth minute of the game Marcelinho Silveira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jataba's Mauro Seco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Dieguinho Severo came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Seleção fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dieguinho Severo couldn't finish the play. Dieguinho Severo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Mauro Seco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Agostinho Toledo scored 0-2 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mauro Seco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 35 played minutes Jataba got a freekick which was hit by Sidnei Freitas. If Marcelinho Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Agostinho Toledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Seleção were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcelinho Silveira was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Jataba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Lara to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rafinha Figueiredo during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Seleção booed when Jataba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafinha Figueiredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Jataba's zone, Agostinho Toledo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mauro Seco came out of the goal and Agostinho Toledo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Dieguinho Severo came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Seleção fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dieguinho Severo couldn't finish the play. Mauro Seco was out of position in the 71 minute of play, and Marcelinho Silveira capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marcelinho Silveira really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. After 77 played minutes Jataba got a freekick which was hit by Paulão Tande. Agostinho Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Mauro Seco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Flavinho Jacinto came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Seleção fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flavinho Jacinto couldn't finish the play. Marcelinho Silveiras short, quick shot in the 89thth minute got Mauro Seco to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Dieguinho Severo came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Seleção fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dieguinho Severo couldn't finish the play. Flavinho Jacinto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mauro Seco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Cesinha Hoffmann charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cesinha Hoffmann the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 95 minutes into the match, Cássio Sena had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mauro Seco. Jataba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cássio Sena was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. Seleção played a much better game than Jataba and deserved their victory. The Jataba players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
