Seraph's Jailson Barral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Seraph from getting a goal against them. Tiburcio Orkatz struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Jailson Barral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marvolo F.C.. Seraph's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marvolo F.C. the free kick. Rômulo Velloso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nelsinho Barreto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Jailson Barral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Seraph's goalkeeper Jailson Barral, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nelsinho Barreto in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jailson Barral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olavo Gonçalves in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jailson Barral saved Seraph from getting behind. If Nelsinho Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Noel Nunes's late challenge caught a Marvolo F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Noel Nunes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th match minute, Seraph was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Noel Nunes to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Artur Ceresso to strike the kick off in the second half. Olavo Gonçalves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jailson Barral read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Jailson Barral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rômulo Velloso went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Rômulo Velloso hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. The supporters of Marvolo F.C. booed when Seraph was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artur Ceresso didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Rômulo Velloso came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Marvolo F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rômulo Velloso couldn't finish the play. Jailson Barral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olavo Gonçalves in the 94th minute of the match.
