The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geraldo Abraão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo Abraão in the 61st minute of play forced Top Sport's goalkeeper Angelo Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eugênio de Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Gil Ferreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 84th minute, Álvaro Brasil made a precise shot to the right of Eugênio de Sena. Borusia Dortmund's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Top Sport succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Borusia Dortmund had controlled the match.
