Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cícero Azevedo in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juvenal Fontes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 60th minute Cícero Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juvenal Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cícero Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cícero Azevedo in the 68th minute of play forced Real Flamengo's goalkeeper Juvenal Fontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juvenal Fontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cícero Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. São Paulo F.C. were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Real Flamengo to leave the ground with a draw.
