Tesoura's Tomé Schmidt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adalberto Tróia in the 3rd minute of play. Serginho Ribeiro came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Tesoura's Sandro de Lara. But to his dismay, Sandro de Lara quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 12th minute Sandro de Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13thth minute of the game Ediberto Peres who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sopro F.C.'s Serginho Ribeiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 17 minutes, Tony Brodel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sopro F.C. and the Tesoura players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sopro F.C.'s Tony Brodel got a free kick in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandro de Lara in the 24th minute of play forced Sopro F.C.'s goalkeeper Serginho Ribeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute Sandro de Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Tesoura's goal looked a bit too open when Delfim Brasil came free, but Tomé Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute Sandro de Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 39 minutes, Sandro de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tesoura's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandro de Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The tension between the Sopro F.C. and the Tesoura players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Sopro F.C. getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Mathias Sena hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Sopro F.C.'s Adalberto Tróia slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tomé Schmidt. That made the score 1-2 after 47 minutes of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adalberto Tróia to strike the kick off in the second half. Sandro de Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Serginho Ribeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Olavo das Neves hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Adalberto Tróia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomé Schmidt was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Brodel in the 56th minute of play forced Tesoura's goalkeeper Tomé Schmidt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Serginho Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ediberto Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Sandro de Lara was extremely unlucky when he, in the 61st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After some careless play in the Sopro F.C. defense, Sandro de Lara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Serginho Ribeiro. The Sopro F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Serginho Ribeiro should have stopped the shot. Tomé Schmidt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adalberto Tróia in the 70th minute of play. Sopro F.C.'s Serginho Ribeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Sopro F.C. from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ediberto Peres got free with Serginho Ribeiro in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tomé Schmidt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adalberto Tróia, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Tesoura's Baba Figo got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sandro de Lara struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Serginho Ribeiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tesoura. 85 minutes into the game, Carlos Alberto de Medeiros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tesoura's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sopro F.C. the free kick. After a rather tough play, Tesoura's Carlos Alberto de Medeiros got a free kick in the 85th minute. In the 86th minute Túlio de Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomé Schmidt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th minute, Antônio de Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sopro F.C.'s Serginho Ribeiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Sopro F.C. from getting a goal against them. Antônio de Lara got his second yellow card in the match during the 92nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 93rd match minute, Tesoura was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio de Lara to maneuver through the defense. When Ediberto Peres came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Tesoura fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ediberto Peres couldn't finish the play. Tesoura played a much better game than Sopro F.C. and deserved their victory. The Sopro F.C. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
