João Gaúcho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th minute Noel Cardozo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Gaúcho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Silvério Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 30 minutes, Toninho Linares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Goias EC and the AKIDAWANUS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Silvério Tróia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Guilherme Macedo having to interfere. Luiz Fabiano Brito's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Guilherme Macedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th minute, Silvério Tróia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. AKIDAWANUS succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Goias EC had controlled the match.
