In the 31st minute, Ediberto Mello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 33rd minute of the match Fabiano Medeiros sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but João Gaúcho skillfully saved the ball. Igor Reis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Toninho Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Gaúcho having to interfere. Toninho Linares charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Toninho Linares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. João Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toninho Moraes in the 47th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After 52 played minutes Goias EC got a freekick which was hit by Matheus Prado. The audience thought a goal was coming when Toninho Moraes got free with João Gaúcho in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Matheus Prado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felipe Hoffmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fabiano Brito in the 71st minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Gilson Castro fired a really elegant long shot, but João Gaúcho threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilson Castro couldn't finish the play. In the 81st match minute, Goias EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adalberto Pereira to maneuver through the defense. Goias EC's João Gaúcho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Goias EC from getting a goal against them. After 86 played minutes Goias EC got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Linares. When Augusto Andrade fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bento FC's protests and gave Augusto Andrade a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Bento FC's Augusto Andrade got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Toninho Linares got his second yellow card in the match during the 95th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 96th minute, Toninho Linares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Goias EC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
