Tostão Pombal started the match with the kick off. When Young FC's Pedrinho Tepedino in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Celthicos's goalie prevented a goal. If Tostão Pombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Celthicos getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Cristóvão de Medeiros hit a great ball. Young FC's Andrézinho Pernambucano pulled a muscle in his leg after 15 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 15th minute, one of Celthicos:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Celthicos. The referee gave Young FC a penalty, 18 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Douglas Dantas, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Celthicos's Kauan Faria. 0-1. In the 23rd minute of the match Vito Paiva shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kauan Faria showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Richard Esteves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kauan Faria. Celthicos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Richard Esteves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Celthicos's zone, Tostão Pombal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kauan Faria came out of the goal and Tostão Pombal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tostão Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Sérgio Rocha made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Sérgio Rocha put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Armandinho Freire. With 56 minutes on the clock, José Vítor Bezerra commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 57 played minutes Young FC got a freekick which was hit by José Vítor Bezerra. After a defensive mix-up in Young FC's zone, Cristóvão de Medeiros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armandinho Freire came out of the goal and Cristóvão de Medeiros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Esteves in the 60th minute of play forced Celthicos's goalkeeper Kauan Faria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Richard Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristóvão de Medeiros's late challenge caught a Young FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristóvão de Medeiros helped the player get up and apologised. Young FC made a substitution. Tadeu Peres replaced Douglas Dantas. Kauan Faria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Esteves in the 67th minute of play. In the 68th minute Sérgio Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armandinho Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 78th match minute, Young FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Rocha to maneuver through the defense. In the 83rd minute Richard Esteves suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. After 83 minutes of play Celthicos's Téo Peixoto was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Young FC's Betão Bertassi was substituted for Richard Esteves. The supporters of Young FC booed when Celthicos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Téo Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 88 minutes, Betão Bertassi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Young FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Betão Bertassi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Pedrinho Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Young FC's Tadeu Peres got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Many of Young FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Young FC may have spent more time on the ball, but Celthicos were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
