Giuseppe Furlan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renan Magalhães having to interfere. Percival Veiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Francisco Valladares having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Genipapo SC's Chiquinho Medeiros got a free kick in the 19th minute. Renan Magalhães was a little too slow when Giuseppe Furlan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 1-0. When William Arósio fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vila Rural EC's protests and gave William Arósio a yellow card for diving instead. William Arósio kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After having played for 26 minutes, Percival Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Genipapo SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Percival Veiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 29th minute Diogo Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Francisco Valladares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeferson Maciel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. João Francisco Valladares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diogo Rodrigues's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. If Giuseppe Furlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giuseppe Furlans short, quick shot in the 49thth minute got Renan Magalhães to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Giuseppe Furlan to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Genipapo SC's goal looked a bit too open when Giuseppe Furlan came free, but Renan Magalhães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute, Giuseppe Furlan made a precise shot to the right of Renan Magalhães. Genipapo SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. The Genipapo SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Renan Magalhães should have stopped the shot. When Vila Rural EC's Giuseppe Furlan in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Genipapo SC's goalie prevented a goal. If Giuseppe Furlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renan Magalhães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeferson Maciel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giuseppe Furlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Renan Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Renan Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giuseppe Furlan in the 92nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Percival Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Genipapo SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Percival Veiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Francisco Valladares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeferson Maciel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Renan Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wanderson Dias hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match.
