Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Afonso Gomes got the match started through his kick off. Dorival Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Reginaldo Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Afonso Gomes struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Reginaldo Salgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Baiaozinho. In the 6th minute, Afonso Gomes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reginaldo Salgado was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Afonso Gomes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 13 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Gomes in the 18th minute of play forced Cochinho's goalkeeper Reginaldo Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Dorival Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulysses Mota sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 40 minutes into the match, Ulysses Mota notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Baiaozinho's Oswaldo de Salles. Oswaldo de Salles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 45th minute Afonso Gomes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reginaldo Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ulysses Mota to strike the kick off in the second half. With his leg Oswaldo de Salles managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when Cochinho's Percival Vides fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 3-1 became the score in the 57th minute when Afonso Gomes elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Baiaozinho's Afonso Gomes got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 63 minutes, Afonso Gomes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Baiaozinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Gomes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Reginaldo Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 67th match minute, Cochinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luís Lima to maneuver through the defense. Reginaldo Salgado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 77 played minutes, Baiaozinho's Alfredo de Medeiros shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Reginaldo Salgado came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Baiaozinho reached it. Dorival Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reginaldo Salgado having to interfere. Baiaozinho's Oswaldo de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulysses Mota in the 86th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Dorival Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot.
