Tomás Linares took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alexandre Secco. Bocaja's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Donato Mazza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fábio de Toledo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reinaldo Pitta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Secco having to interfere. A collision led to Itacaja SS getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Thomás Prado hit a great ball. When Fábio de Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Bocaja fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fábio de Toledo couldn't finish the play. 36 minutes into the match, Itacaja SS's Delfim Pinheiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alexandre Secco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Reinaldo Pitta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Delfim Pinheiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Alexandre Secco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Donato Mazza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bocaja. With a little luck, Itacaja SS's Donato Mazza got control of the ball when Fábio de Toledo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bocaja's Fábio de Toledo got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Bocaja's zone, Delfim Pinheiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandre Secco came out of the goal and Delfim Pinheiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fábio de Toledo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-4 in the 84th playminute. If Delfim Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Itacaja SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. The Itacaja SS supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Bocaja's performance. The match ended with a win for Bocaja.
