A collision led to Pereira Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Juarês de Amorim hit a great ball. Enrique Xavier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Percy Leite made a huge save. Amílton Dracena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Koehler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amílton Dracena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rubinho Varela went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Percy Madureira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amílton Dracena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. When Tião Souza came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Pereira Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tião Souza couldn't finish the play. Antônio Carlos Passos charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Antônio Carlos Passos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 20th minute, Antônio Carlos Passos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24thth minute of the game Rubinho Varela who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but America PE's Amílton Dracena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Enrique Xavier received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Percy Leite came out and tried to block the shot, but Enrique Xavier slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 26th minute. After 29 played minutes America PE got a freekick which was hit by Antônio Carlos Passos. Juarês de Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílton Dracena having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Rubinho Varela ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amílton Dracena was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind America PE's goalkeeper Amílton Dracena, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to America PE getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Tomás Dracena hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tião Souza in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amílton Dracena saved America PE from getting behind. 45 minutes into the game, Enrique Xavier cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Percy Leite was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The supporters of America PE booed when Pereira Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tião Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Percy Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrique Xavier in the 53rd minute of the match. Percy Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Carlos Passos in the 54th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Tião Souza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pereira Futebol Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. In the 64th match minute, Pereira Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tião Souza to maneuver through the defense. In the 66th minute, Enrique Xavier left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The America PE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. In the 70th minute Enrique Xavier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percy Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amílton Dracena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tião Souza went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-4 was the resulting score. 84 minutes in the game, Percy Madureira fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Amílton Dracena having to interfere. Antônio Carlos Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. When Pereira Futebol Clube's Tião Souza in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Pereira Futebol Clube played a much better game than America PE and deserved their victory. The America PE players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
