Itahy's defense didn't have a chance, in the 3rd minute, when Patrick Toledo scored to the left of an out of position José Pedro Valle, making the score, 1-0. 10 minutes into the game, Toninho do Nascimento was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Itahy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Botafogo PB the free kick. Toninho do Nascimento hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Doni Pinho got free with José Pedro Valle in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vitinho Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Doni Pinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. José Pedro Valle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Doni Pinho came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Botafogo PB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Doni Pinho couldn't finish the play. In the 38th minute Abelardo Marques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Betinho Sá saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Botafogo PB's Betinho Sá played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaká Barros in the 40th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Botafogo PB's goal looked a bit too open when Guilherme Campidelis came free, but Betinho Sá reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 55th minute, Doni Pinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kaká Barros blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Betinho Sá having to make a save. João Vítor Bastos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Pedro Valle having to interfere.
