The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mauro Prado came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Cerquilho's Wiliam Veiga. But to his dismay, Wiliam Veiga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. With 9 minutes on the clock, Allan Pinheiro commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Albertinho Quirino placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! With an all-out effort, Cerquilho's Mauro Prado threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Thiago Mangueira, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 12th play minute Thiago Mangueira came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Mauro Prado. 2-0. In the 17th minute Dráusio Paranaense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dagoberto Proença saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute, Rafael Botelho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wiliam Veiga's late challenge caught a Gladiadores Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wiliam Veiga helped the player get up and apologised. In the 22nd minute, Wiliam Veiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Rafael Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th match minute, Gladiadores Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dráusio Paranaense to maneuver through the defense. After 26 played minutes, Cerquilho's Jardel de Sousa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mauro Prado came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cerquilho reached it. Maurício Paraense came free in the 28th minute and tried to tip the ball over Mauro Prado, but to the joy of Gladiadores Futebol Clube's supporters the ball went over. 31 minutes into the game, Ramiro de Toledo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cerquilho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gladiadores Futebol Clube the free kick. After 31 played minutes Cerquilho got a freekick which was hit by Ramiro de Toledo. After 40 played minutes Cerquilho got a freekick which was hit by Ademir de Alcântara. Albertinho Quirino hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match.

The wind increased when Maurício Paraense made the kick off in the second half. Rafael Botelho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Dagoberto Proença made a huge save. After 64 played minutes Cerquilho got a freekick which was hit by Jardel de Sousa. Gladiadores Futebol Clube's Albertinho Quirino couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 66th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Cerquilho. Dagoberto Proença made an important save on a dangerous shot by Germano Pitta in the 69th minute. Cerquilho's attentive Clóvis Vides managed to snatch the ball when Albertinho Quirino made a throw-in in the 74th minute of the game. The supporters of Gladiadores Futebol Clube booed when Cerquilho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clóvis Vides didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cerquilho's Dagoberto Proença proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Cerquilho from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jardel de Sousa during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gladiadores Futebol Clube's Albertinho Quirino shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 86th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Dagoberto Proença but with some difficulty. Dagoberto Proença took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dráusio Paranaense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Germano Pitta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Cerquilho's Dagoberto Proença got control of the ball when Germano Pitta tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ademir de Alcântara charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ademir de Alcântara the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Cerquilho getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Ademir de Alcântara hit a great ball. After 94 played minutes, Gladiadores Futebol Clube's Albertinho Quirino shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dagoberto Proença came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gladiadores Futebol Clube reached it. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Cerquilho had won after a very even match.
