The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Lúcio Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iterere's supporters rose to their feet, but Lúcio Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manoel Terra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeremias Sena's late challenge caught a Iterere's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeremias Sena helped the player get up and apologised. Jano Figueiredo made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Caio Borges sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Bahia City booed when Iterere was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tião de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manoel Terra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Marques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 19 played minutes, Iterere's Dráusio Botelho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Manoel Terra came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Iterere reached it. After a rather tough play, Bahia City's Paulo Breckenfeld got a free kick in the 33rd minute. A collision led to Bahia City getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Ronaldo Barros hit a great ball. If Luís Fábio Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 42 minutes into the game, when Ronaldo Barros put in a rough tackle. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bahia City's goalkeeper Manoel Terra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luís Eduardo Vaz made a kick off. For all the effort they put into the match, the Iterere players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Bahia City.
