Spectators: 7222 (Terracing: 5418, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 143) Romário Cardozo started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 8 minutes into the match, Taquaral's goal looked a bit too open when Franklin Santana came free, but Célio Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Franklin Santana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 12th minute Franklin Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Célio Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Celsinho Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carioca's supporters rose to their feet, but Celsinho Sousa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Célio Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Celsinho Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Célio Souza having to interfere. Célio Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celsinho Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes into the match, Taquaral's goal looked a bit too open when Franklin Santana came free, but Célio Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Celsinho Sousa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Célio Souza. Taquaral's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Celsinho Sousa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The supporters of Taquaral booed when Carioca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Betão Severo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Romário Cardozo sped through Carioca's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cauã Oliveira. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Doni Paes hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Cauã Oliveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romário Cardozo in the 54th minute of play. In the 58th minute Celsinho Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Célio Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Franklin Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Franklin Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Taquaral's zone, Celsinho Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Célio Souza came out of the goal and Celsinho Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 77th minute, Franklin Santana fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Célio Souza, passed just outside the right post. The crowd rose to their feet as Carioca's Celsinho Sousa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Célio Souza. That made the score 1-2 after 78 minutes of play. Célio Souza was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Celsinho Sousa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 87 minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 94 minutes, Célio Souza successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Celsinho Sousa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Célio Souza came out and tried to block the shot, but Celsinho Sousa slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 96th minute.
