This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Célio Souza as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 23rd minute, Almir Furlan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 25 in the game by Sandro Zanette from a close distance when the talented Célio Souza managed to make a qualified save. Taquaral's players were relieved. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Luiz Carneiro during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Pedro Luiz Carneiro hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Sandro Zanette's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 28thth minute, Célio Souza skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. S.E Cachoeira Alegre's Vivaldo Queiroz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romário Cardozo in the 66th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, S.E Cachoeira Alegre's goalkeeper Vivaldo Queiroz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Luiz Carneiro. Almir Furlan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Célio Souza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Sandro Zanette recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Taquaral fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Célio Souza should have stopped the shot. A collision led to S.E Cachoeira Alegre getting a freekick after 80 minutes play.
