The coaching staff of Carioca protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and João Paulo dos Santos had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 38th minute, one of Carioca:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Carioca. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dino Ribeiro in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cauã Oliveira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Betão Severo kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Golden Dogs were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
