When Isaltino Saraiva, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 32 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The João Carlos Furlan was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Guaravera's zone, Isaltino Saraiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Carlos Furlan came out of the goal and Isaltino Saraiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Simão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
