Paulinho Junior made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romário Urbano in the 26th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dagoberto Quintal got free with Nilmar Leme in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Costas's Régis Ramos got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute of the match Yuri de Medeiros shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulinho Junior showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Paulinho Junior showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romário Urbano in the 33rd minute of the match. Régis Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Nilmar Leme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enéas de Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Marcos Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilmar Leme having to interfere. Régis Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. In the 45th minute of the match Vágner Félix sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulinho Junior skillfully saved the ball. Paulinho Junior showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yuri de Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After 47 played minutes Costas got a freekick which was hit by Régis Ramos. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dagoberto Quintal made a kick off. Enéas de Salles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Nilmar Leme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 55 minutes into the match, Costas's Dagoberto Quintal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nilmar Leme narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 57th minute, Dagoberto Quintal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nilmar Leme was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 61st minute Romário Urbano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulinho Junior saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nilmar Leme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dagoberto Quintal in the 62nd minute of the match. Dagoberto Quintal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Régis Ramos struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Nilmar Leme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costas. In the 76th minute, Régis Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Dagoberto Quintal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nilmar Leme was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. Sousel EC's Nilmar Leme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dagoberto Quintal in the 87th minute of play. Nilmar Leme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Régis Ramos's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Paulinho Junior showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romário Urbano in the 91st minute of the match. If Romário Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that Costas were the better team. Costas's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
