After 66 played minutes Sousel EC got a freekick which was hit by Yuri de Medeiros. 67 minutes into the match, AC Metropol's Luizinho Tasso broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Romário Urbano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andrézinho Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilmar Leme having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Sousel EC's zone, Flávio Meireles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nilmar Leme came out of the goal and Flávio Meireles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Andrézinho Figueiredo managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC Metropol's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrézinho Figueiredo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nilmar Leme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sousel EC's Nilmar Leme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flávio Meireles in the 88th minute of play. If Flavinho de Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 96 minutes into the match, AC Metropol's Andrézinho Figueiredo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nilmar Leme narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sousel EC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
