Romário Urbano had several of the Jacovense's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 6 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Luís Guilherme Mattos as he didn't even see the shot coming. Norberto Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cacá da Rocha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Cacá da Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Jacovense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cacá da Rocha couldn't finish the play. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Jacovense! Luiz Brasil scored 2-0 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luís Guilherme Mattos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nilmar Leme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norberto Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After a rather tough play, Jacovense's Paulo Carioca got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Flavinho de Brito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Luís Guilherme Mattos made a huge save. When Norberto Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Jacovense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norberto Sousa couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Jacovense getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Paulo Carioca hit a great ball. Luís Guilherme Mattos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romário Urbano in the 35th minute of the match. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romário Urbano couldn't finish the play. Nilmar Leme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cacá da Rocha's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Flavinho de Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Guilherme Mattos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romário Urbano in the 48th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Norberto Sousa made a kick off. Jacovense's Luís Guilherme Mattos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yuri de Medeiros in the 54th minute of play. A collision led to Sousel EC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Wellington da Rocha hit a great ball. Luís Guilherme Mattos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romário Urbano, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 61st match minute, Sousel EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrique dos Santos to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th minute there was a penalty for Sousel EC. Luiz Brasil stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Luís Guilherme Mattos. 3-0. Luís Guilherme Mattos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romário Urbano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 71 minutes, Romário Urbano made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Jacovense's Luís Guilherme Mattos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Wellington da Rocha charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wellington da Rocha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 76th minute, Wellington da Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 78 played minutes, Jacovense's Marcel Bueno shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nilmar Leme came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Jacovense reached it. Luís Fabiano Ceresso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Nilmar Leme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Guilherme Mattos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romário Urbano in the 83rd minute of the match. Norberto Sousa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nilmar Leme read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Flavinho de Brito succeeded in the game's 91st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 5-0. Sousel EC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
