Viadutos FC's Walmir Ortiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fabiano Paiva in the 34th minute of play. Pedro Travassos made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Mané do Valle sent off a good shot on target. Mané do Valle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Pedro Travassos made a huge save. Walmir Ortiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fabiano Paiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luís Fabiano Paiva to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Quintino booed when Viadutos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anísio Linhares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Travassos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmílson Vargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Quintino's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Mané do Valle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Pedro Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Edmílson Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mané do Valle in the 95th minute of play forced Quintino's goalkeeper Pedro Travassos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Viadutos FC's Mané do Valle, in the 97th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Viadutos FC.
