Spectators: 7056 (Terracing: 5401, Seating: 1655, VIP seats: 0) Ondina FC's Emerson Ceresso started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 10th minute, Ernesto Matos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Carnaubas SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Ondina FC's Emerson Ceresso slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Júnior Santana. That made the score 1-1 after 13 minutes of play. In the 19th minute Ernesto Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josué Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emerson Ceresso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Josué Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Matos, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ondina FC's goalkeeper Josué Tavares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Ondina FC booed when Carnaubas SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cláudio Quintal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carnaubas SC's Júnior Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emerson Ceresso in the 36th minute of play. After recieving a nice pass, Ondina FC's Celsinho Custódio tried to score from far away in the 38th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Carnaubas SC's Francisco Sanches in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ondina FC's goalie prevented a goal. Ernesto Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josué Tavares having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute, Emerson Ceresso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ernesto Matos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ernesto Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beto de Senna charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Beto de Senna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Beto de Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Juninho Dante's late challenge caught a Ondina FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juninho Dante helped the player get up and apologised. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ernesto Matos got free with Josué Tavares in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Ondina FC's Josué Tavares got control of the ball when Ernesto Matos tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 76 minutes, Ernesto Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carnaubas SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernesto Matos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Francisco Sanches had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Sanches was extremely unlucky when he, in the 83rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Josué Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Sanches in the 85th minute of the match.
