The crowd rose to their feet as RB SAO BRAGA's Chiquinho Neves slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vivaldo Zanette. That made the score 1-0 after 5 minutes of play. Sandro Fernandez kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the game, Guartela EC's Gualter Veloso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ronaldão Toledo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 20th minute Leopoldo Teixeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldão Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Chiquinho Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. RB SAO BRAGA's supporters rose to their feet, but Chiquinho Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vivaldo Zanette breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 25th minute, Nicolas da Fonseca made a precise shot to the right of Ronaldão Toledo. RB SAO BRAGA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. 32 minutes into the match, RB SAO BRAGA's goal looked a bit too open when Gualter Veloso came free, but Ronaldão Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, RB SAO BRAGA's Vivaldo Zanette threw himself towards the right post 34 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Chiquinho Neves, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Leopoldo Teixeira hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. A hard shot 45 in the game by Chiquinho Neves from a close distance when the talented Vivaldo Zanette managed to make a qualified save. Guartela EC's players were relieved. After the first half Guartela EC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chiquinho Neves to strike the kick off in the second half. Vivaldo Zanette showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chiquinho Neves in the 61st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chiquinho Neves in the 62nd minute of play forced Guartela EC's goalkeeper Vivaldo Zanette to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, Guartela EC's Gualter Veloso dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Ronaldão Toledo made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Leopoldo Teixeira sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Gualter Veloso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ronaldão Toledo. That made the score 1-4 in the 86 minute of play. Gualter Veloso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ronaldão Toledo having to make a save. Ronaldão Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualter Veloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gualter Veloso's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ronaldão Toledo firmly grabbed it by the left post. When the match was over Guartela EC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than RB SAO BRAGA throughout the match.
