Santanna FC Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guartela EC the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Terra in the 13th minute of play forced Guartela EC's goalkeeper Vivaldo Zanette to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Santanna FC Clube defense, Gualter Veloso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Laerte Galvão. The Santanna FC Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Laerte Galvão should have stopped the shot. If Maicon Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 22 minutes of play, Santanna FC Clube's Jeferson Paranaense made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vivaldo Zanette was left in no man's land by his defense there! Laerte Galvão made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Leopoldo Teixeira sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amadeu Veiga in the 32nd minute of play forced Guartela EC's goalkeeper Vivaldo Zanette to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Guartela EC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Nicolas da Fonseca hit a great ball. Guartela EC's Gualter Veloso got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gualter Veloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gualter Veloso took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Laerte Galvão. Laerte Galvão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gualter Veloso to strike the kick off in the second half. Laerte Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gualter Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Guartela EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronaldo Albuquerque was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeremias Terra during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 63 played minutes Santanna FC Clube got a freekick which was hit by Jeremias Terra. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gualter Veloso in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Laerte Galvão saved Santanna FC Clube from getting behind. The supporters of Santanna FC Clube booed when Guartela EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldo Albuquerque didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ronaldo Albuquerque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Gualter Veloso came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Guartela EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gualter Veloso couldn't finish the play. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santanna FC Clube's goalkeeper Laerte Galvão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Guartela EC fully deserved thier win.
